A Note from Accelerate Northfield

Hello Tutors,

I hope you all are having a fun and fulfilling start to your holiday season.  As we approach the holidays and the college tutors go on break, it’s a great time for us here at Accelerate to take a minute to check in with you, the tutors, and see how you are doing.  Your feedback is very important to us so we can continue to improve our program and better support you tutors, so please take our brief survey to share your thoughts about your experience tutoring so far this year.  Here’s the link to our survey.

Could you tutor for the month of December or January?

Since we are coming up on the holidays, the college tutors are going on break. We need volunteers who can continue to work with their elementary students in the interim so they continue to progress.  If you can tutor during the college breaks, we need your help!

One final note before I say so long until 2014.  Thank you so much for all your efforts so far this year.  I know the teachers truly appreciate your efforts and we do too!  I recently spoke to many of the teachers with Accelerate tutors, and I heard nothing but wonderful and positive things about you tutors!  Keep up the great work!!

Best Wishes,

Amy

Good News From You!

“You are making a significant contribution to the education of my students!  Your assistance in implementing academic interventions is invaluable, and your hard work is bringing students closer to their academic goals.  You have great enthusiasm that carries over to the students, as does your willingness to celebrate every success.  The students love to work with you, and always want to know when their turn is coming.  Thank you for everything that you have done!  I look forward to the coming weeks and months!”

Current Events

Not that we want to toot our own horn or anything, but Rachel Matney and Fritz Bogott, the founders of Accelerate Northfield, were honored last week by the Northfield Public Schools and the Northfield Education Association for their efforts to close the education gap in Northfield.  They received the Friends of Education Award.  Congratulations to Fritz and Rachel!!

iPads

As you may have noticed over the past month, we have been experiencing some technical difficulties with our iPad sign-in-system.  We have spent a great deal of time and effort to try and fix the problem.  Thank you so much for your patience while we are working on a solution.  We are testing the iPads this week and hopefully they will be back in service next week or by the end of December at the latest.

What’s Happening Next?

Dec 12 – Winter Walk 4-9pm.  Accelerate will be in the Armory with TORCH.

Dec 23-Jan 3 – No School.  Holiday Break.

Jan 6 – School Resumes.

How are we doing?

Hello Everyone,

I hope you each had a fabulous Thanksgiving! Now that it’s December and the end of the year is approaching fast, we thought it would be a good time to check in with you, the tutors, and make sure everything is going well. To that end, we have a brief survey that we hope you will take to let us know how you have been doing, and how we here at Accelerate are doing so far this year. Your feedback is very important to us because it helps us evaluate our program and make improvements so we can better support you tutors. To take the survey, follow this link.

Thank you again for taking the time to fill out our survey!

Best,
Amy
