I hope you all a great final few days of summer and are enjoying this cooler weather! Over the past few weeks, I’ve seen that many of you have already signed up for tutoring opportunities and that’s fantastic! I’m really excited that we are off to such a great start this year. Just a quick reminder — the schools require a new background check so we need all tutors to sign up every year and complete a new form.
We are still looking for more volunteers, and we need your help to spread the word! Please tell at least one friend, or acquaintance, or a family member about Accelerate Northfield this week. We still have 200 tutor requests to fill, so tell as many people as you can!
On a separate note, you may have noticed that the iPads we used for signing in and out last year were not in place for the first few weeks of school. We have straightened this out and the iPads are back at Bridgewater and Sibley. Remember to sign in and out using these iPads at your volunteer sessions. We are still waiting on an iPad at Greenvale Park, so for now, continue to use the binder sign-in system there.
The one final thing I have for you is information about Response to Intervention, or RtI trainings. If you have signed up for one of these tutoring opportunities, you must attend a training session. We have two sessions scheduled currently:
-Sept. 17th, 7-8pm, Room 142, Buntrock Commons, St. Olaf
-Sept 23rd, 7-8pm, Room TBD, Carleton
If you are unable to attend either of those trainings, contact me and we can arrange something else.
As always, please contact me with any questions, concerns, stories, or just to say hi! I always love hearing from you.
